But when do you grow up? The unusual friendship between a runaway boy and a drifter will lead to only one answer: growing up means finding one's place in the world.
OUR TAKE
"Ovunque, altrove" is a delicate short film that manages to tell an intimate story through high-quality direction, skillfully weaving together the narrative threads. The wandering soul of one of the two protagonists is well portrayed in the opening sequence: Zackari Delmas spins around, unbalanced, seemingly lost in a life lacking flavor, but finding color in an encounter with something different, outside the norm. The short film is effectively a coming-of-age story, sealed with a question posed just a few lines from the end, "when did you realize you were grown-up?" What does it mean to be grown-up, we might add, if not to experience, as fully as possible, all the nuances of human emotions. Well-structured in its writing, Pietro Pedrazzoli's work boasts excellent direction and cinematography. "Ovunque, altrove" is a short film with the ambition of being interpreted on multiple levels, yet it pursues a universal language that speaks here, as well as elsewhere, indeed everywhere.
